Shannon Vineyards - Sanctuary Peak 2021

Shannon Vineyards - Sanctuary Peak is a South African Sauvignon Blanc with an intense straw yellow color in the glass.  

This Sanctuary Peak white wine is a dry Sauvignon Blanc with fine floral fruit aromas in the nose. On the palate an invigorating fresh acidity, concentrated fruit and an excellent balance - embedded in a pleasant mineral base note. A full bodied wine with a lasting finale.

The winemaker couple Nadia and Gordon Newton Johnson and the owners James and Stuart Downes have a large range of top-quality wines such as the pure varietal Shannon Semillon, the Shannon Mount Bullet Merlot as well as the Shannon Sanctuary Peak Sauvignon. The talented production team at Shannon is passionate about bringing out the uniqueness of the wines. 

Shannon Vineyards, whose name is reminiscent of the Irish ancestors of the winery owners, regularly receives prestigious awards and recognitions for its premium and individual wines.

The high and cool Elgin area is nestled in the ancient sandstone Hottentots Holland Mountains.

The region used to be used for growing apples and is now known worldwide for its award-winning wines. The different microclimate offers an ideal basis for viticulture.

Cold winters with high rainfall ensure that the grapes ripen longer in the high elevations of the Elgin area. This has a positive effect on the pH value and the acid balance of wine.  

Goes well with starters, grilled fish and meat.
